Plante de 20-80 cm, dressée ou ascendante, glabrescente, à souche traçante, émettant des stolons souterrains, filiformes, blanchâtres ; tige arrondie, sans lignes saillantes
Écologie : (répartition d'après la flore) Marais et lieux humides, dans presque toute la France ; nul dans la région méditerranéenne; Corse.
Répartition hors de France : Presque toute l'Europe et l'Asie; Amérique septentrionale.

A nearly glabrous perennial with a little-branched, terete stem rising 15-50 cm from a decumbent base, which produces long, white, underground stolons terminating in a white bulbil.
Ecology UK: (distribution according to flora) It is thinly spread in marshes and acid bogs throughout the British Isles.
